Innovative concepts driven by continuous vision.
Automotive industry veteran and 3D printing entrepreneur Hung Ngo founded Shift Koncepts to bring innovative and high-quality 3D printed carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass parts for car enthusiasts. We combine our innovative concepts with 3D printing to improve car and driver performance.
As part of our automotive vision, we find ways to improve car and driver performance by making enhancements wherever possible. We were the first to realize that the paddle shifters on the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR, while sufficient for daily driving, were sorely lacking on the track. Through constant small improvements, driving experience will be enhanced.
In addition, we can also help you turn your concept into reality. Our production facilities allow us to develop carbon fiber, Kevlar and fiberglass products for all types of applications with short turnaround times.
Our paddle shifter extensions are made using continuous fibers as a reinforcement in the printing material. Composites made with continuous reinforcing fibers exhibit substantial increases in strength and stiffness compared to similar materials using discontinuous (chopped) fibers. Our machine does not print with a weave, it deposits layers of unidirectional composite in a user-defined orientation that can be specified by layer. In general, unidirectional composites have a higher strength-to-weight ratio in the preferred fiber orientation than composites made with woven fabrics.
